The sand track is open once again, following Independence Day celebrations. However, there are not a lot of gallops, as the majority of horses canter and are expected to work faster tomorrow.

The first barrier trials of the year are also expected to take place tomorrow, with the presence of numerous possible participants of the season's first classic, The Duchess Of York Cup, taking part.

The big news this morning is the presence of Australian jockey James Winks, who has been hired once again by Patrick Merven. Next week should see the rest of the foreign jockeys arriving to ride for their respective employers.

Those who impress this morning include Alloy, Schachar, Brave Leader, New Star, Melson, Var’s Dream, Seven Fountains. Mootahadee, Prince George, League Of Legends, Entrée, Kremlin Captain, Gharbee, Al Firenze, Kurundu and Tornado Man.
