Of the nine runners entered in the second main event of the Attitude Hotels International Jockeys Weekend 2019 – The Ravenala Attitude Trophy, only a few have managed to visit the winner’s enclosure. Certain runners will look to end their campaigns on a high, with the view of performing even better in 2020.

After going very close in his first three races, HAYLOR (Manoel Nunes) finally made it count at the fourth time of asking on Duke Of York Cup day, which went down very well with everybody connected to Simon Jones’ yard. This time round, he is competing in elite company but based on his current form, and the fact that he has the Champion Jockey on board, he has every chance of doubling the score.

TABLE BAY (Kersley Ramsamy) has performed genuinely in the second half of the season, making the podium in each of his last three races. He was the best of the rest behind the phenomenal White River in the Swan-Duke Of York Cup, and in the absence of the latter, he has a golden chance of taking the honours here.

BARITONE (Aurelien Lemaitre) started his campaign on a winning note, producing a powerful finish to get the better of Al Mariachi. He has not come close to confirming, apart from a handful of podium finishes. He was last seen in action in the Swan-Duke Of York Cup, doing what he could. In this field, he is capable of performing even better.

TEN GUN SALUTE (Randall Simons) may have arrived in Mauritius with a handsome reputation, but he has not come quite close to confirming it on our turf. He has performed honestly this season, notably finishing in the placings in all three classic races he has taken part in. In this contest, he merits respect.

OVERSHADOW (John Powell) and IDEAL SECRET (Derreck David) were last seen in action in the MTC 175th Anniversary Cup. The former gave it a real go, but was ultimately beaten by Opera Royal. The latter did enough to land 3rd place, a honourable result considering he was running over the 1850 metres. Both runners remain in solid shape and are not prevented from making their presence felt in this.

KAZAAR (Jason Watson) is running again following his 3rd place effort last Saturday. If he can reproduce that showing, it would be deemed as more than satisfactory.

ERNIE (Jason Collett) and WILD HORIZON (Surendar Srinath) complete the line up and based on their recent forms, they have it all to do.
