Australia: Superstar So You Think, who finished third in the Emirates Airline Melbourne Cup on Tuesday, is likely to begin a career racing in Europe for Aidan O'Brien at Ballydoyle, after it emerged that Coolmore have bought into the four-year-old for an undisclosed sum.

The breeding giant has had notable success in the past with Australian purchases, Haradasun andmore recently sprinter Starspangledbanner who won two Group 1s in Britain this season.

Commenting on the purchase, racing manager to owner Dato Tan Chin Nam, Duncan Ramage, said: "There are still protocols to be completed before it is signed sealed and delivered.

"They are going to race and breed the horse as a joint venture.

"It is known Coolmore would like to race the horse in Europe and we would have to take that into consideration."

Winner of seven of his ten career starts for trainer Bart Cummings, So You Think was sent off the 2-1 favourite for the Melbourne Cup and was beaten just over three lengths by Americain.

Coral have already installed the antipodean star as a 8-1 chance for next season's Coral-Eclipse.

Firm spokesman David Stevens said: "So You Think has been invincible over ten furlongs Down Under, and if he does follow in the hoofsteps of Haradasun and Starspangledbanner by racing in Europe, we would regard him as a major contender for the Coral-Eclipse."
