The Australian Racing Industry is in mourning after top jockey Stathi Kathsidis was found dead at his home on Tuesday morning. Kathsidis was 31 year old and was one of the best jockeys in Australia.

Police say that there are no suspicious circumstances.

During his career, Kathsidis won the Magic Millions on Military Rose and won the AJC Derby on Shoot Out.

Kathsidis 31,was the champion jockey last season in Queensland kicking home 161 winners. Kathsidis had a controversial career and was suspended for nine months after testing positive of ecstasy.

He was also in trouble with the law when he was pulled over in 2008 with a blood alcohol well above the legal limit.

He returned to racing and was riding at his best. Last Saturday Kathsidis rode three winners and this Saturday was due to ride Shoot Out in the Cox Plate.
