Italy: Overdose, the Hungarian sprint sensation who lost his famous unbeaten record on his 15th career start when playing up dreadfully behind the stalls in Germany last time out, is set to bid to redeem his reputation at San Siro, Milan, on Sunday.

The five-year-old, only seventh in the Goldene Peitsche at Baden-Baden on August 29, is one of 16 entries for the Premio Omenoni, a Group 3 event run over a straight 5f.

Potential opponents include Black Mambazo, the horse who got closest to him, albeit at a respectful distance of ten lengths, at the end of his most recent Pattern-race triumph, the Group 3 Premio Carlo e Francesco Aloisi in Rome in November 2008.

A potential British challenger is the David Simcock-trained Above Limits, who finished third to Farrel and Jakor in a Listed event over this course and distance on September 19.

The first two home that day, plus four who finished behind Above Limits, are all among the Omenoni possibles.
