Friday night’s meeting at The Valley will now start later due to temperatures north of 40 degrees forecast in Melbourne.

Racing Victoria have moved the eight-race card back by 30 minutes to take advantage of the cooling conditions in the early evening.

The first race is now scheduled to start at 7pm with the last to be run at 10.30pm.

Racing Victoria have stated they will monitor the forecast prior to race day and consult with club officials to decide whether the meeting will go ahead.

The changes to Moonee Valley’s schedule adds to the tally of meetings which have been either cancelled or adjusted this week due to the extreme heat, with Bairnsdale’s Wednesday meeting recently abandoned.
