A former Brisbane trackwork rider has been disqualified for nine months for pulling a swiftie with a urine test.

The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) has disqualified Emma Jane Vincent for nine months after she pleaded guilty to substituting a urine sample and riding unlicensed.

QRIC stewards inquired into the circumstances of the Brisbane woman’s attempt to substitute a clean urine sample when requested for a no–notice drug test at Eagle Farm during track work on January 30.

Vincent pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 81A(1) (b) which relates to: refuses or fails to deliver a sample as directed by the stewards, or tampers with, adulterates, alters, substitutes or in any way hinders the collection of such sample or attempts to do any of those things.

Vincent admitted to failing to provide a correct urine sample and attempting to substitute a sample from another individual.

QRIC Commissioner Ross Barnett said the nine month disqualification reflected the serious nature of the offence.
