Race 1 (0-25)

#10 ST ARNAULT had to settle for second best behind A P Strike in the third meeting. That result has added value, as the winner confirmed last Saturday. He is taken to go one better in this opening contest. #1 Rasta Rebel was also runner-up in his last start. He will appreciate running over longer and his chances of rebounding are strong here. #9 Spin A Coin had a memorable end to 2017 as he won three consecutive races. He has come out very well from a long break and having looked in top order in his trials, he warrants plenty of respect. #7 Sea Pass made up some ground to finish in 3rd in his seasonal debut. Well-trained and with Robbie Fradd on board, he is a major player in this. #6 Wing Man produced an excellent showing in his latest. Down a division and running over longer, he can make his presence felt once again.

Top Tip: #10 ST ARNAULT

Dangers: #1 Rasta Rebel, #9 Spin A Coin, #7 Sea Pass

Race 2 (B.41)

Preference is for #7 MAXAMORE in the first 990 metre contest of the day. He was beaten late on by Friend Request on Duchess Of York Cup day. In good nick, he is taken to strike back. Debutant #8 Sky High Flyer has arrived with a promising reputation. He has shown potential at track work and can give the selection something to think about. #2 Palladium completed the quartet in his debut in the second meeting. He has come out well from that run and as he is competing in a lower Benchmark, he is entitled to show up. #1 Seven Wood was unable to race in the 4th meeting due to the bad weather. He has benefited from the extra time in training and is capable of making the frame in this. #4 Gameloft would have preferred a longer trip but even so, he can still crack the placings here, together with #5 Dealer’s Charm, who is in vastly improved shape after his last run.

Top Tip: #7 MAXAMORE

Dangers: #8 Sky High Flyer, #2 Palladium, #1 Seven Wood

Race 3 (B.46)

#6 Castle comes into this race having struck the crossbar many times. That included last Saturday, when he was second to Emaar. Running again this week, he is in with a serious chance of ending his long winless spell. #4 Talbec showed a huge amount of promise in his debut season. This Patrick Merven-trained gelding is ready for his return to competition and is capable of striking in this. #7 ORANGE TRACTOR impressed mightily in the first half of his debut season, but he lost form soon afterwards. He has shown complete satisfaction at track work and with Juan Paul Van der Merwe riding in confidence; he should run a cracker here. #1 Act Of Loyalty warrants serious consideration, as he is down two categories compared to his last start, while stable companion #3 Kemal Kavur won superbly in a higher division in the International meeting and can double the score in this contest.

Dangers: #6 Castle, #4 Talbec, #1 Act Of Loyalty

Race 4 (B.51)

#6 NOAH’S ARK produced an eye-catcher in his seasonal debut, finishing 5th, but only 1.6 lengths behind Steal A March. In excellent condition, he can do even better this time round. #4 Answeringenesis continued his streak of winning in classic meetings in his last start. He is up a Benchmark and running over longer, but he still has a good chance of confirming. #8 Racing For Fun landed 3rd in his previous attempt. Well-trained, he will be hard to stop if ridden accordingly. #7 No Resistance and #5 Chinese Gold are rated as two interesting outsiders.

Top Tip: #6 NOAH’S ARK

Dangers: #4 Answeringenesis, #8 Racing For Fun, #7 No Resistance

Race 5 (B.61)

#5 Bouclette Top did not disgrace himself in the main event of the second meeting. Once a place-getter in two classic races, it has been a fall from grace for this horse, which arrived in Mauritius with a rating of 76. In this contest, he should be very competitive right from the outset. Stable mate #6 Malak El Moolook finished an encouraging 4th in his return to competition after a long enforced absence. He has benefited from that run and should be right in the mix. #8 CHILI CON CARNE has been well-prepared for his debut. He has done everything right in his workouts and he has a very strong chance of making an instant visit to the winner’s enclosure. #1 Recall To Life should have no problems in this category. He makes plenty of appeal in this contest, having worked well. #9 Jolie Roger won excellently in the Duchess Of York Cup meeting. He remains in good order and even in a much higher Benchmark, he is not prevented from doubling the score. #7 Psycho Syd must not be condemned on his last start, as he ran into unfortunate circumstances. He should be in the shakeup in this.

Dangers: #9 Jolie Roger, #5 Bouclette Top, #6 Malak El Moolook

Race 6 – The Sir Radhamohun Gujadhur Cup (30+ - 3YO)

#7 ZODIAC JACK was unfortunate last Saturday. His yard has opted to enter him again and it won’t be a surprise if he bounces back in style. Stable mate and debutant #1 Northern Rebel is a promising sort. He has shown up very well in his trials and having landed the pole position draw, he can mount a bold attempt. #2 Ku Du Tu is a promising horse that must not be underestimated. He has been in preparation mode since February and has constantly progressed. He is a big player in this. #5 Doyles is the son of the legendary High Chapparal. He is worth a thought, even over this short trip. #3 Riding Shotgun is highly thought of by his connections. He has worked well and with Robbie Fradd up, he can have a say on proceedings here.

Dangers: #1 Northern Rebel, #2 Ku Du Tu, #3 Riding Shotgun

Race 7 (B.36)

#5 Together Forever showed bags of improvement in his seasonal debut, finishing strongly to take 3rd and a mere 0.25 lengths behind the dead-heaters Melson and Pride Rock. A reproduction of that run can see him go in here. Preference however is for #3 DUKE THE DUKE, who had no problems in renewing with success in the third meeting. Still in top order, he is taken to confirm. #1 Greatfiveeight has not confirmed his debut win and the best he has done is finishing as runner-up to Hard Day’s Night in a Group 2. He has been drawn in the ace and if able to dictate his own terms, he will be hard to run down. #4 Napoli and #2 Top Of The Rock are two good place contenders.

Dangers: #5 Together Forever, #1 Greatfiveeight, #4 Napoli

Race 8 (B.31)

#6 INDIAN TRACTOR finished a good-looking 4th last time out, just a length behind The Brass Bell. He has continued to improve and a big run is forthcoming here. #2 Rock On Geordies ran well in his latest, landing the final podium spot. He looked in good nick in training and can give the selection a massive run for his money. #9 Kapteinspandiseile has come out very well from his promising debut run. He too is in with a chance in this. #7 Saracen King made up some ground to finish in 4th just two meetings ago. If he is able follow closely, he can achieve a much better result. #4 Tweak The Wind should be right in the mix if he can repeat his last run, while #3 Chap Trap is capable of finishing in the money.

Dangers: #2 Rock On Geordies, #9 Kapteinspandiseile, #7 Saracen King
