The on-course judge had plenty to do before declaring a triple dead-heat for fourth in Wednesday's Le Pine Funerals Handicap (1400m) at Sandown.

Less than a length separated the first seven placegetters at the finish of the $40,000 race in which She Brings Hope ($15) narrowly won the event from Trinity Hill ($7.50) and Labdien ($8.50).

However, the judge's work got harder when it came to determining the fourth placegetter with Gold Fontein ($16), Pria Eclipse ($17) and Fife ($11) all dead-heating.

The TAB subsequently declared three first four dividends after the racing rarity with punters that had Pria Eclipse in their exotic bet picking up a dividend of $5014 for a full unit.

Wednesday's triple dead-heat follows a similar occurrence in a trots race in May when a trio of runners dead-heated for third.
