Hugh Bowman has fared well in the draw for mounts in Wednesday night’s Longines International Jockeys’ Challenge at Happy Valley.
Bowman, who won the competition last year, is the Australian representative and will ride Smart Baby (R4), Dr Proactive (R5), Sparkling Sword (R7) and Bullish Smart (R8) in the four race contest.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club rate Bowman the second favourite at $6 behind Ryan Moore at $4.75 to win the competition.
Joao Moreira is next at $6.50 ahead of France’s Pierre-Charles Boudot at $8.
Zac Purton is representing Hong Kong and is 10th in order at $16 in the 12-rider competition.
Jockeys are awarded 12 points for a race win, 6 points for finishing 2nd, and 4 points for 3rd.
The jockey with the highest points accumulated will be the night’s champion.
