Real Finniss has stunned punters with a brilliant all-the-way win at massive odds of $301 at Terang on Monday.

The Deanne Taylor trained seven-year-old powered clear to win by two-and-a-half lengths in the final race on the day over 1850m to claim his second win at his 40th start.

He was last seen when seventh, beaten four lengths, in a Benchmark 58 over 1500m at Geelong, while his lone win came at the same track in February 2016.

It was also the trainer’s first victory since that day, breaking a 35-start run of outs for Taylor, who is based at Stawell and has just one win from 60 runners to the track.

For apprentice jockey Kassie Furness it was her first win since May 20, a run of some 44 races without a win.

Real Finniss paid $102 on the Victorian TAB but best odds of $301 were available with Bet 365 at the jump.
